Before I go on about myself, I'll talk a little bit about my comic's history. Street Fighter Mini Gang actually started on paper almost 8 years ago, when I was in 3rd grade.
I got the idea from a friend, who shared my love for the Street Fighter games, to start a comic book series based on the characters from Street Fighter. These early comics
lacked any real plot or sense at all, and I mostly borrowed really corny lines and scenes from the english dub of Dragonball Z. After wasting handfuls of printer paper on
the countless number of comics I had made, I decided to put it aside for a few years. When I entered middle school, I suddenly had the urge to start the comics again, right
from where I left off. The comic took a turn from a corny adventure story to a comedy strip. Only a few of these were made, and I again put it aside for other comics like
my fantasy drama, War of Terra. Realizing the stress and pressure of having to draw full figured characters, I decided to put the manga drawings aside and return to my roots.
That is when Street Fighter Mini Gang was born. Mini Gang came from the fact that I draw the characters in a chibi fashion, and this would be my newly preferred style
of drawing. I then decided to use the three panel comic strip format for individual comics with a punchline at the end, as this was the format of my favorite webcomics like
Bob and George comic strips and Sinfest. I started drawing these new strips on paper and handed them out to people at school, and my feedback was mostly positive. This
gave me the courage to bring my strips online to start my own webcomic as I had hoped. Here we are. Wish me luck.
Hmm, I guess that wasn't "a little bit" about my comic's history. Now about myself. My name is Chang Jin and I am currently attend a high school in New Jersey. I enjoy drawing comics and despite my lack of artistic talent, I continued to do it to let other people enjoy my work and get a few laughs from it. Besides comics, I enjoy playing video games and model making. Yeah, all my hobbies pretty much hole me up inside my house. Mind you, I enjoy my personal time and I wouldn't give up anything in the world for it. From my comic, you can obviously tell I like fighting games (especially Street Fighter). I spend most of my free time playing fighting games with my friends, who are insanely competitive when it comes to a game of Capcom vs SNK 2 or Tekken 5. I listen to a lot of music, and I am sort of biased against anything that isn't sung in Korean or Japanese. I mostly prefer Japanese music, though I'll squeeze in the usual American song in there. My favorite artists are Mr.Children, L'arc~en~Ciel, GLAY, YUI, UVERworld, and Utada Hikaru. Most of that is rock. That's enough personal information for now, go read my comic!
